IBM Hursley visit

Posted on 12th November 2005

We're off to see Hursley, one of IBM's biggest software development laboratories on the 16th of November (Wednesday)!

We've got a coach booked to leave from campus at 12.00pm and depart from Hursley at 5.30pm (trip time is around two hours). The trip costs £4 to cover the coach hire.

IBM tell us they've arranged a good spread of speakers and demos, so it should be a great trip!

You don't need to be a member to come along, non-members should email their names and university numbers to exec@uwcs.co.uk.

LAN!

Posted on 10th November 2005

At the end of week 8, The Computing Society will be hosting the second LAN of this academic year, in Lib2. Further details are here. If you've missed the signups, please still sign up as a reserve - it's likely we'll be able to extend the signups once again, and if we do, the people signed up as reserves will be given priority.

Finally, if you realise closer to the time that you can't turn up, please cancel your signup to give someone else a chance.

See you all there!

h4. IBM Hursley Park Industrial Trip

Compsoc has organised a trip to IBM Hursley Park, one of IBM's biggest software development labs, for Wednesday 16th November (Week 8). IBM have arranged a wide spread of speakers and fascinating demonstrations (especially if last year is anything to go by!) so anyone going will be sure to see/hear some interesting material.
