Great News Everyone!
The Uni electricians finally got back to us, (thanks John) and we have been told that we have enough power for 40 people. Thus all of you who wanted to come, but there wasn't room, now there is. We're sorry it is such short notice, but there was nothing we could do. We decided it was better this way than to risk getting 40 signups, and then having to tell the last 20 that they couldn't come after all.
That said, roll on the LAN...

As you may have noticed if you were at gaming last week, ITS have decided to end public access to ITS0.11, which will become a training room only. This means we need a new venue for our gaming sessions, and we have found one: B2.08, the room on the science concourse about halfway between the library bridge and the turning to the left for L3. If in doubt, follow the sounds of gibbage, people on a caffeine high, and general gaming goodness. :-)

Professor Kevin Warwick
Posted on 9th March 2004Professor Kevin Warwick of Reading University's Cybernetics Department will be giving a guest lecture here on Tuesday, April 20th at 6:00pm in R0.21 (Ramphal Lecture Theatre). Professor Warwick claims to be the world's first cyborg, and had an electronic chip implanted in his arm. If you're going to go to one lecture next term, make it this one!
This lecture is open to everyone, not just Compsoc members. All are welcome!

Dr Steve Matthews Lecture
Posted on 4th March 2004This week we have scheduled a talk by Dr. Steve Matthews. The talk will be an hour's introduction to "Philosophy for Programmers", Dr. Steve Matthew's research topic. This will be on Tueday of Week 10 at 5pm, in the L4 lecture theatre (beside L3).
This is an event that should not be missed!
