We need to bring down our IRC and SQL servers briefly this Saturday (18th September) at 9pm. This will affect IRC (irrespective of which method you use to access it), the main CompSoc website, and any members' websites that use SQL. Normal service should be resumed 5-10 minutes afterwards. For any queries, please contact the tech team.

As part of their new security measures, ITS are blocking a large amount of services. Until we are able to get things unblocked (sometime next week, we hope), you can access irc by connecting to irc.warwickcompsoc.co.uk, port 3389 (SSL IRC is at bermuda.warwickcompsoc.co.uk:3389).

You can log into molotov by SSH, anything else (e.g. email) will require a solution like SSH forwarding. If you're not sure how to do that, ask us on IRC, and we'll be happy to help.

Due to a DOS attack being carried out on the campus network, services for the entire campus network are nearly all disabled, with the exception of web access. Further information can be found at the general "Campus Life" news page and at the ITS News page.

UPDATE: SSH and mail access to campus have been restored, so you can reach our normal IRC service using ssh.

As part of the general server upgrades the IRC server is moving to a new server. To minimise disruption please use irc.warwickcompsoc.co.uk to connect to irc until the move is completed.

Any glitches/requests should go to the tech team, and we'll get it sorted. They're very much experimental at the moment, we're still ironing things out, so go find the bugs for us!

If you have a website hosted here as http://www.warwickcompsoc.co.uk/~foo, it is now accessible as http://foo.warwickcompsoc.co.uk/ and you should check that it works under this new URL, because within the next day or so, we plan to redirect all requests for the first kind of URL to the second. Note, anything that was already accessible under a URL without a ~ in it (i.e. anything with a virtual host) should be completely unaffected.
