(Console) Gaming Session this Saturday

Posted on 11th January 2007

As Warwick Estates have still yet to furnish our new gaming room, we'll be running a console gaming session this Saturday in B2.13/14 at 7pm-midnight to attempt to inject some gaming into the society!

Please, if you have a TV you can bring/lend us, let the exec know (either by email or by specifying in a signup comment)!

Sorry about the late notice!

Just to let you know that the Linux User Group is organising a "pub social":http://www.uwcs.co.uk/society/events/details/679 this Wednesday. EGM Report

Posted on 16th October 2006

Due to the recent resignation of our Academic Officer, as many of you may know we just held an Emergency General Meeting to elect a new Academic Officer onto our Exec. Arun Prasannan (Polar) and Graham Hayward (covbob) both stood for the position, and after speeches we held a vote. We're now pleased to announce our new Academic Officer for the remainder of this exec term will be Arun Prasannan (Polar), and that Graham Hayward has kindly offered to help organise academic events from outside the exec. Arun is...

Due to the resignation of our Academic Officer (David Byard) over the summer, we have to hold an EGM (Emergency General Meeting) at the start of this term to elect a new Academic Officer for the remainder of this exec period (until the end of Term 2).

The EGM will be held on the Friday of Week 2, most likely in the Union meeting rooms, at 7pm. Further details of the location will be sent out via an email to all society members nearer the time.

Any members interested in running for the position should send...

Welcome!

Posted on 12th September 2006

We're now rapidly approaching the start of the new year, so I'd just like, on behalf of all the exec, to welcome all our existing members back, and to say hello to any freshers who are thinking about joining the society. :)

As some of you may know, the new website is now almost ready, and should be going live reasonably soon, so expect to see a new look. We also have brand new forums, which we invite any and all to sign up for and use.

To anyone thinking of joining us, if you use IRC and want to say hello...

New Academic Officer

Posted on 22nd August 2006

Due to many mounting personal issues I (David Byard) have stepped down as Academic Officer. Consequently, I am no longer part of the exec and this position is now re-open for nominations.

If you believe you have skills to bring the society forward - management skills, passion for computing, and a touch of creativity - email the exec with your proposition.

I wish my successor every success and shall make a handover as smooth as possible.
