LAN Seating

Posted on 21st February 2007

Hi!

LAN seating plan is at "http://www.uwcs.co.uk/society/events/seating/717":http://www.uwcs.co.uk/society/events/seating/717, for what it's worth. I'm afraid it's the same system as last time, and thus totally unsuited for what we'll be up to: I'm afraid I really don't know what the table layout will be.

For now, however, can you update yourselves on it into approximately 6 columns of 5 ish, or 5 columns of 6, or some similar re-arrangement, and we'll see how we go when we do the setup. The bit labelled...

LAN date correction

Posted on 15th February 2007

Thousands of apologies etc., but the previous LAN-related email was in fact incorrect.

It had apparently slipped my mind that due to a room booking issue, the LAN is at the end of week 7, that is, Fri 23rd Feb. The event has been corrected on the website.

Signups will still open at noon this Saturday.

Again, apologies for both the change in date, and the late notice for this LAN.

Second LAN of term!

Posted on 13th February 2007

Our second LAN of term is now up on the events page. Note that as we are in a smaller room and we're not sure of power requirements, signups for this event will be limited to 30 at first. Once we know what the room can take, we may bring them up to 40, but it seems unlikely that we will be able to fit many more.

Signups will open at noon this Saturday, and I strongly suggest you signup ASAP after then - it's not unknown for 30 places to go in 5 minutes!

If it's full, don't worry - you can still sign up as...

Recent MySQL Problems on Molotov

Posted on 13th February 2007

MySQL should now be fully functioning again if you've only been using MyISAM tables (the default). If you've been using InnoDB tables, your database should still exist, however you may have to restore data/table layouts from backups. If you don't have a recent backup or don't have access to your database, please contact techteam@uwcs.co.uk.

Apologies.

LAN Seating and Pizza!

Posted on 28th January 2007

There is now a "drag and drop LAN seating plan":http://www.uwcs.co.uk/society/events/seating/688 - just drag people around and hit "save new arrangement" if you don't like your existing seat.

Also, there is an "experimental pizza order signup":http://www.uwcs.co.uk/society/events/details/713 - please signup and specify your desired pizza in the comments, and the pizza will be ordered sometime before the LAN, thus neatly guaranteeing a sensible arrival time (11pm Friday). Medium pizzas should be a fiver eac...

Karting!

Posted on 23rd January 2007

CompSoc is planning a karting trip on the Wednesday of Week 7 (21st Feb). It will start at 3pm at Mr. Karting, in Leamington, and cost will likely be about £30 (I've not had confirmation of that yet). Transport is likely to be provided by members, so if you have a car, please say so in your signup comments.

CompSoc have a preliminary reservation on the time, but as we need to place a deposit, we need 10 people guaranteed to come before we can justify fully making our booking. There's an "event on the web...

There will be another Console Gaming session this Saturday, at 7pm in B2.07. Please indicate if you're able to come and if you're able to bring a TV on the signups page!

If you need a lift from Earlsdon, please indicate as such in your signup, so that bucko can sort out picking you up/dropping you off.
